ALEXANDER HILLMAN

Alexander is a PhD candidate in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A military fellow at MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory, Alex is a career data scientist for the United States Air Force.

Prior to his time at MIT, Alex was the Chief Data Officer of the Air Force’s only Cyberspace Test Group, leading data science and digital transformation activities for a 300-program portfolio for Air Force, joint, and foreign partner weapon system test programs. During his time as CDO, he co-founded the Air Force’s Emerald Flag, an evaluation venue built to enable novel, advanced technologies to bridge the developmental valley of death.

A graduate of the US Air Force’s Test Pilot School, Alex has held various technical and leadership positions in the Air Force, primarily in flight test organizations. He holds master’s degrees in Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Flight Test Engineering, and military operational art and science.

Alex is also on the advisory board of AMSTAT Consulting, a biomedical statistical consultancy, and United States Galactic, a new space industry startup.
